An additional candle is lit each day of Kwanzaa. Mkeka: A mat upon which mazao and muhindi are placed. Kibombe Cha Umoja: The Unity Cup. Everyone who takes part in the Kwanzaa celebration drinks from the Unity Cup. Muhindi: Corn. One ear of corn is placed on the mkeka for each child in the household. Mazao: Fruits and vegetables of the harvest.
