Introduction: ChitChat.NET is an ASP.NET based discussion forum created specifically for SQL Server. Unlike most forum products that claim to support SQL Server by using inline SQL, which is difficult for a developer to maintain and performs badly, ChitChat.NET only works with SQL Server and has been designed to actually make use of the robust and high-performance database platform that SQL Server provides. No need for Query Analyser. · New icons. · Designed to ease navigation for users. · Grouped forums. · Forums are now assigned to groups to ease topic and security management. · Multiple file uploads. · Users can now upload more than one file per post. · Advanded group security. · Define security on groups so only specified users can see forums and define the access each user has. · User directory for secure groups. · Members of secure groups can see a list of other participating members. · Resource archive for secure groups. · A member of a secure group can (if permissions allow) add a file as a forum resource which will add it in to a forum file directory. · Public events system. · Events or news can be added from the admin. · Additional user data fields. · Information such as address and telephone number is accessible to users of secure forums. · User filter for secure forums on topic list. · Allows users to just show topics posted by a specific user. · Referrers can be tracked. · Referrers can be tracked by adding a list of referres in the admin and giving each one a specific link.
